Dedicated to wine making and Montepulciano traditions

WINEMAKING

We take pride in producing our own Montepulciano wine

Dionora’s vineyard is entering an exciting new era, guided by the ambition and passion of its new Danish owners, Lars Larsen Group leading the way. With a deep respect for Tuscany’s winemaking heritage, Dionora is blending innovation with tradition, ensuring that its wines reflect both the unique terroir and a commitment to excellence. Though we are, in many ways, starting fresh, we have the privilege of working with Dionora’s extraordinary old vines, which have been nurtured by the land for many years. To honor and elevate their potential, we have assembled a team of highly skilled local winemakers, bringing in both deep regional expertise and a shared passion for quality. At the heart of this transformation is our newly equipped winery and cellar, outfitted with state-of-the-art technology that allows for precise, and high-quality winemaking. Every step of the process, from vine to bottle, is carried out with care, patience, and a pursuit of perfection. This is just the beginning of a new chapter for Dionora wines, where the legacy of the land meets the dedication of a passionate team. With time, skill, and respect for nature, we look forward to crafting exceptional wines that will tell the story of Dionora for years to come.

MONTEPULCIANO LEGACY

Montepulciano, home to Dionora,
has a long-standing tradition of crafting exceptional wines. We are committed to honoring and elevating this legacy

Ambitions & Philosophy

Honoring Nature, Crafting Excellence

At Dionora, our ambition is clear: to craft exceptional wines that honor the land, embrace tradition, and reflect the true essence of Montepulciano. We believe that nature gifts us gold, and it is our responsibility and privilege to nurture it with expertise, care, and humility.
Our winemaking philosophy is rooted in the understanding that great wines are not made – they are revealed. The vineyard itself is the true master, and our role is to respect, guide, and refine what the land so generously provides. With a team of highly skilled professionals, we approach every step of the process with dedication, patience, and precision, ensuring that the potential of each grape is fully realized.
Balancing innovation with tradition, we strive for purity, authenticity, and excellence, allowing our wines to tell the story of Dionora’s unique terroir. Our goal is not just to produce wine, but to create expressions of place and time – bottles that capture the magic of this extraordinary land.
The journey has only just begun, and we embrace it with passion, ambition, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

THE PROCESS

A Year in the Vineyard

Winemaking at Dionora is a journey that follows the rhythm of nature, where each season plays a vital role in shaping the final expression of our wines, but when autumn arrives, it is time for the harvest, the most crucial moment of the year. At Dionora, our grapes are handpicked at peak ripeness, ensuring that only the finest fruit makes it to the cellar. The winemaking process then begins – gentle pressing, careful fermentation, and meticulous aging in oak barrels to refine structure, depth, and character. With patience and expertise, our team guides nature’s gift into the bottle, allowing the unique terroir of Dionora to shine through. Every vintage is a reflection of the land, the climate, and the dedication of those who nurture it.

GRAPE VARIETIES

The Essence of Montepulciano Wines

Dionora’s vineyard is home to some of Tuscany’s most revered grape varieties, deeply rooted in the winemaking traditions of Montepulciano. The estate’s Sangiovese vines, the backbone of the region’s most celebrated wines, thrive alongside Merlot, bringing depth and richness to our blends. Beyond red grapes, Dionora also nurtures Trebbiano and Malvasia, two historic white varieties that add elegance and freshness to our winemaking portfolio. Montepulciano is synonymous with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a prestigious DOCG wine crafted primarily from Sangiovese (locally known as Prugnolo Gentile). Renowned for its complexity, structure, and aging potential, Vino Nobile has been a symbol of excellence for centuries. At Dionora, we are also exploring the production of IGT wines, allowing greater creative freedom in blending tradition with innovation. With our exceptional old vines, unique terroir, and a passionate winemaking team, we are committed to crafting wines that reflect both the heritage and future of Montepulciano’s winemaking legacy.

THE SOIL

Where Nature Shapes the Wine

Dionora is rooted in an ancient land dedicated to winemaking, where the perfect combination of soil, altitude, and climate creates wines of exceptional character. Situated at 550 meters above sea level, our vineyard benefits from cooler temperatures, optimal sun exposure, and gentle breezes, ensuring a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The soil at Dionora is rich in minerals, a unique composition that gives our wines structure, depth, and a refined texture. This diverse terroir allows each grape variety to express itself fully, enhancing its natural elegance and complexity. While nature does the work, our team of dedicated winemakers guides the process with humility and expertise, respecting the land and its rhythms. Our philosophy is simple: to let the vineyard speak for itself, crafting wines that are a true reflection of this extraordinary place.
